Google launches Its New Machine learning Platform For Developers

The announcement at GCP NEXT conference in San Francisco on Wednesday. A new service called Cloud Machine Learning will be available in a limited preview.

Machine learning powers feature like,
The Google app's speech recognition and the smart reply feature in the Inbox app, and Google sees the technology as the future of computing. "Cloud Machine Learning will take machine learning mainstream, giving data scientists and developers a way to build a new class of intelligent applications," Fausto Ibarra, Google's director of product management wrote in a blog post. "It provides access to the same technologies that power Google Now, Google Photos, and voice recognition in Google Search as easy to use REST APIs."

“Major Google applications use Cloud Machine Learning, including Photos (image search), the Google app (voice search), Translate and Inbox (Smart Reply),” the company says. “Our platform is now available as a cloud service to bring unmatched scale and speed to your business applications.”

Google Cloud Machine Learning stage will have two sections — pre-trained models and another that permits developers to bulid their own models. Google Translate API and Cloud Vision API are pre-trained Machine Learning models, which have been joined by Google Cloud Speech API. The Cloud Speech API powers Google’s own voice search and voice-enabled apps. It can do the speech-to-text conversion for 80+ languages.

The Cloud Machine Learning service released in alpha. This service can be utilized by developers for building and training custom models to be used in intelligent applications.

While both Amazon Web Services and Microsoft have already got their very own cloud-based machine learning services, it will be exciting to see how Google differs from its competitors?

In an official blog post, the firm said: 'Cloud Machine Learning will take care of everything from data ingestion through to prediction.'  “It also said that big data in these terms means more productivity especially when building applications leading to faster and better insights, and developers do not have to worry about “underlying infrastructure.”

But in the background, Google's deep learning algorithms are always there and always learning.
