Apple Rolling Out iOS 14.6 And iPadOS 14.6 Updates

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference will take place virtually this year start's from June 7. In this conference we are expecting to see various updates along with new operating system across various platforms. But before releasing iOS 15, Apple wants to fix a few things in the current release.

Apple has released iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6, watchOS 7.5, macOS Big Sur 11.4, and tvOS 14.6 updates. Most of these updates address issues and bugs reported  by users. In addition, they bring some new features that may be useful to some users. Updates have already been made to the software and you should be able to install them on your device.

Another feature coming with iOS 14.6 is Apple Card Family support. Family sharing lets users share their Apple Cards with up to five other members of their family. The card must be shared by individuals who are 13 years or older. AirTags are also getting some improvements from Apple.

Apple iOS 14.6 also brings the Podcast subscription service to iOS 14.6.  With Apple iOS 14.6 users will be able to subscribe to podcasts. Podcast listeners can pay creators for their subscription. Other benefits include ad-free service and bonus content.

When the AirTag is lost, it adds the option of using an email address as a means of contact. For lost AirTags, you can now add an email address in the Find My app so that you can contact someone if your accessory goes missing. The only option prior to iOS 14.6 was to enter your phone number.

Those who have the Voice Control accessibility option enabled can use their voices to unlock their iPhones for the first time after installing iOS  14.6. Along with that, there are several bug fixes in iOS 14.6, including Apple Watch not unlocking iPhones, disconnecting  Bluetooth devices, and performance issues during startup.

How to install iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6 on your iPhone, iPad?

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone/iPad.
  • Head over to General > Software Update.
  • Tap on Download & Install option, which will be available right below the update information.
  • Once downloaded, hit the install option, which will restart your device and boot you into the new operating system version.
