WhatsApp Android Beta Version 2.20.201.10 Updates

WhatsApp Adds ‘Always’ Mute Option For A Group Or Contact

The latest WhatsApp Android beta version 2.20.201.10 introduces a new option in the “Mute notifications” setting that replaces “1 year” with “Always”. The same WhatsApp beta update also brings more features like a new storage usage user interface, no calls for verified businesses, and media guidelines.

According to WABetaInfo, Whatsapp has submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.20.201.10. Lets see what is new in this update.

Always Mute

In this update WhatsApp is enabling for several users a feature called Always Mute, a new option that replaces “1 year” when muting a chat. Now, the options will be 8 hours, 1 week and Always. The feature is appearing for beta testers. If it does not appear, you will receive this option within a few days.

No Calls For Verified Businesses

WhatsApp is currently hiding Voice and Video Call buttons in chats with Verified Business accounts. They are disappeared from Contact Info too.

Those buttons are still available if you tap the profile icon in the chat and contact list. However, people mistakenly tap the video or voice call buttons, so maybe its better if they were on the profile page.

New Storage Uasge

Another new feature with WhatsApp beta 2.20.201.10 is the Storage Usage UI. It isn’t exactly a new feature, but it is rolling out to many beta users for the first time. With the previous 2.20.201.9 update, WhatsApp started to release the new Storage Usage UI and its tools.

The roll out was slow, so not many people have received the redesigned Storage Usage. After installing the 2.20.201.10 update, several users are now receiving the feature. The feature showcases a “Suggested clean up” window to review and delete unnecessary files.

Media Guidelines

WhatsApp is rolling out another feature called Media Guidelines, that easily allows to align stickers and text when you edit images, videos and GIFs.

The updates and new features have been spotted on the Android version of WhatsApp. There’s no word on the availability of the same on iOS.
