WhatsApp Working On Multiple Devices Support

WhatsApp Is Working To Sync Chat History Across Platforms

The Facebook owned messaging app WhatsApp is working on a new feature where it will be possible to use the same WhatsApp account on multiple devices.

The feature would need a new UI for the app, which is under progress for both Android and iOS. At present WhatsApp can only be used on a single device and can be access to another device is through WhatsApp Web.

According to WABetaInfo, the website which offers updates on WhatsApp news for iOS, Android and Windows. This feature is said to be under development and WhatsApp is still working on it and could be release in future. Also WhatsApp is working to create an interface for both Android and iOS.

The multi-device support that WhatsApp is currently working on will also support chat history sync. This means that once you are able to log into up to five devices using a single account you will also be able to sync your messages across devices.

In its report it is stated that, once the feature comes into play, users will no longer have to copy their chat history every time they log in to a different device using a single account.

WhatsApp will automatically sync the chat history but it would require a working Wi-Fi connection as files could be large in size and hence can consume a lot of your mobile data.

“When WhatsApp has safely copied the chat history to the second device, it will be finally possible to use your account from it. Any message will be delivered to all your family devices, so your chat history will be always synced across platforms, and when you use or remove a device, your encryption key changes. When the encryption key changes, all active chats will be notified"

Moreover, It has also developed an iPad app which will go live after this multiple-device feature is activated and you will soon be able to use WhatsApp on your iPhone and the iPad at the same time. However, there is no indications when exactly the feature will be available for use. But we hope it will come soon.
