WhatsApp Will Stop To Support Windows Phone

Facebook-owned messaging service WhatsApp recently announced that it will stop supporting Windows phone based smartphones after December 2019.


It means that Whatapp will no longer release bug fixes, updates and add new features on the platform. The app on such platforms may also see some of the features stop functioning at any time.

After Microsoft pulls support in December, device backups for settings and some apps will continue for three months until March 10, 2020. “Following Microsoft’s recent decision to end support for Windows Mobile devices in December, WhatsApp will release its final update for Windows phones in June.

In a blog post, WhatsApp said that it is no longer developing for Windows Phone operating system. It had earlier ended support for Nokia Symbian S60, Nokia Series 40 operating system, BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10.

By February 1, 2020, WhatsApp has announced that will end the support for phones running Android versions 2.3.7 and older and also iOS 7 and older.WhatsApp users on the older operating system are recommended to upgrade to newer Android devices running OS 4.0 or higher.  iPhone running iOS 8 or higher as well as Windows Phone 8.1 or higher.
