Crazy Statistics That Prove We Love WordPress

Crazy Statistics That Prove We Love WordPress

If you haven’t heard of WordPress yet, where have you been?! Nowadays, it’s very difficult to be involved in the web design game without coming across WordPress in some form. I don’t want you to simply take my word for it, though. I’ve been browsing the web to track down some statistics that will blow your mind! Thanks to a few valuable sources of information, here are some interesting tidbits about WordPress.

Over 26% Of All Websites Use WordPress (as of 08/08/2016)
Yes, over a quarter of the entire web uses WordPress to host their websites. That’s absolutely insane! Web design has changed entirely with the introduction of WordPress, making it easy for anyone to get involved. As with all great things, WordPress is simple to use and hard to master. That has meant that both beginners and veterans have taken to it in their droves, and you can see the results.

2.5 Billion Posts Written With WordPress (as of 06/26/2015)
Above all else, WordPress is an incredible blogging tool. It’s no surprise that many of the world’s leading blog-based websites are hosted with WordPress. There’s a lot of options under the hood, and plugins make the possibilities even greater. If you ever wanted to incorporate a blog into your website, there has never been a better way to do it.

Approx. 41.7 Million Posts Each Month (as of 08/08/2016)
It’s stunning how many posts we see on a monthly basis with WordPress. If anything, the platform seems to be getting more popular by the month. Could there be a time when 50% of the world’s websites use it as a web design ? Who knows?!

The Company Employees Just 489 Employees (as of 08/08/2016)
Here’s a statistic to blow your mind! Facebook.com has over 13,000 employees. Google.com has over 64,000 employees. WordPress.com has...489?! Yes, it’s true. They all work for a company called Automattic, who design a number of websites including WordPress. Amazingly, this dedicated team of individuals manages WordPress.com. A dedicated group of community volunteers is responsible for many of the themes and plugins that are available.

WordPress.Org Hosts Over 2000 Themes (as of 12/17/2015)
While we’re on the subject of themes and plugins, let’s delve a little deeper! WordPress.org hosts thousands of themes. The current number has actually been trimmed multiple times due to rules and regulations about what can be uploaded. The great thing about these themes is that they can be downloaded for free. Plugins are very much the same, offering different tools to assist depending on what you’re looking to do. These are the lifeblood of WordPress, offering possibilities that aren’t possible anywhere else.

You can’t argue it anymore! We love WordPress! Surely, we’ll be seeing this powerhouse dominating the web design scene for years to come. And the best part about it? It’s totally free to download! It doesn’t get much better than that.
