Mafia III Game Is Coming Up On 7 Oct 2016 

Today the publisher announced, 2K's crime game Mafia III will launch on October 7 and also confirming pre-order bonuses and various special edition versions of the game. Additionally, a new trailer has been released, providing a new look at the '60s-set game's story and characters.

Mafia III’s official Twitter account discovered that the open-world gangster game is coming out on October 7. It will announce on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Mafia III is about a group of gangsters, this time set in the New Orleans-inspired New Bordeaux during 1968. The October release date will make sure that the game comes out in time for the productive holiday season, when sales for console games are at their highest thanks to all of the gift-giving.

Every person who preorders Mafia III will get what 2K is calling the "Family Kick-Back." This accompanies with three "exclusive" vehicles and weapons. These will be "lieutenant-themed," but no other details were shared.

In addition to the standard version of Mafia III, 2K will announce limited deluxe ($80) and limited collector's ($150) versions. The limited deluxe edition comes with the game and it’s Season Pass, while the collector's edition has everything in the limited deluxe edition, as well as physical content for example, a collectible art book, the game's score on vinyl, art prints, and other, unannounced things.

“Mafia III introduces a true open world, rich with its own criminal ecosystems to the franchise, while still upholding the strong narrative storytelling and immersive setting that the previous Mafia games are known for,” said Haden Blackman, the studio head and creative director at developer Hangar 13, in a press release sent to GamesBeat. “New Bordeaux in 1968 provides a unique and powerful backdrop for our hard-boiled story of crime, betrayal, loyalty, and revenge.”

Mafia III will be launched for PlayStation 4, PCs, Xbox One and will happen in a re-imagined version of New Orleans going back to 1968. And the storyline follows the protagonist's quest for vengeance for the murder of his surrogate family. It is established by new 2K studio Hangar 13, under the direction of Star Wars veteran Haden Blackman.

Previously in the year, a rumor indicated to a Mafia III launch date of April 26. 2K clarified the game was made for a release during the company's 2017 fiscal year, but at the time of the assumed release, no date had yet been set.
