  • WhatsApp is bringing an amazing feature in which photos will be automatically deleted as soon as you leave the chat
  • It is being tested for both Android and iOS users.
  • Photos sent in this feature will not be exported.

WhatsApp is soon going to add an amazing feature to the app, which is also beneficial in terms of security. According to the reports, using this feature will automatically delete the photos sent on the chat itself. WABetaInfo, a site tracking WhatsApp, gave information about the feature on social media.

WABetaInfo tweeted that WhatsApp is testing self-destructing photos feature. It is being tested for both Android and iOS users. This feature will allow photos sent on chat to be deleted completely. Apart from this, this feature will do many things, let's take a look.

Photos sent from this feature cannot be exported

  • The special thing is that photos sent in self-destructing mode will not be able to be exported. It means that the photo will not be saved in the gallery nor will any other user be able to forward it to anyone.
  • WABetaInfo stated that WhatsApp didn't implement screenshot detection for self-destructing photos yet.
  • Some screenshots of the feature have been shared in the tweet in which information about the feature is given. It shows that the person you sent the photo, after seeing the photo and closing the chat, the sent photo will disappear.
  • The screenshots also reveal that the user has to select a photo from the gallery to use the self-destructing feature. After selecting the photo, you have to tap on the icon like a block.
  • This block-like icon will appear close to 'Add a Caption'. After doing this, you will be able to send a photo to someone using the self-destructing feature.
