Looking For WhatsApp Alternative: Use Signal Or Telegram Apps

WhatsApp's new privacy policy has caused some concern among users. Users have to accept the terms and service of this new policy by February 8, 2021, or delete their accounts.

Facebook-owned WhatsApp’s updated policy says that it may share your information with its family of companies to “facilitate, support and integrate their activities and improve our services.”

Whatever information WhatsApp automatically collects from you will be shared with Facebook. This includes your mobile phone number and basic information you give when you create a WhatsApp account. It also collects and shares user activity, how often you use WhatsApp, features you use, your profile photo, your status and ‘about’ information.

Your information could also be used by Facebook and its other products to make suggestions for you, personalise features and content, help you complete purchases and transactions, and show relevant offers and ads across the Facebook Company Products.

Because of all these privacy issues, users are moving towards another alternative of Whatsapp i,e Signal and Telegram app which is more secure than Whatsapp. As we all know Telegram is the fastest messaging app on the market and it mainly focuses on speed and security. It is super fast, simple, and free.

But, Nowadays we continuously hearing about one more app named "Signal" app. After having privacy issues with Whatsapp, users are switching towards the 'Signal' app. A lot of people have been asking how to move their group chats from other apps to 'Signal'.

What is Signal App?

The Signal is a messaging app, available for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux. The app is developed by the Signal Foundation and Signal Messenger LLC and it is a non-profit company. The app was created by Moxie Marlinspike, American cryptographer and currently CEO of Signal Messenger.

Well, it is a messaging app with a focus on privacy, and has been around since 2014. The app is completely free to use. Signal lets users send messages, make audio and video calls with their friends, share photos, videos and links, similar to how other messaging apps work.

It recently introduced the group video calling option in December 2020. One can also create groups on Signal, which are limited to 150 members.

Signal lets you individually reply to messages, send emoji-based reactions to a particular message, and even delete a particular message from the chat by choosing the ‘Delete for Everyone’ option. These are all features we’ve seen on other messages apps as well, including WhatsApp.

Signal also has a disappearing messages feature. You can set disappearing messages on for each individual chat and choose the time ranging from 5 seconds to one week.

But the focus of Signal is on privacy entirely. The app is not just about offering end-to-end encryption, but chooses to collect minimal user data, without compromising on features.
