    Apple announces macOS Big Sur Public Beta Version


    Apple marking the end of macOS 10 and announced its new operating system, macOS Big Sur (macOS 11.0). The new operating system is the most advanced desktop operating system in the world to a new level of power and beauty. 

    macOS Big Sur features a major user interface redesign, and is designed to take advantage of Apple designed ARM processors in future Macs.


    Before installing the new operating system, macOS Big Sur, lets take a look to its new features.

    Refreshed Dock and Streamlined apps

    A new uniform shape for app icons adds consistency and a sleek design update makes getting to your favorite apps even easier. With full height sidebars to refreshed toolbars, all your content is always front and center.

    Control Center for Mac and Notification Center

    In macOS Big Sur, instantly access the controls you use most like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Also get new controls to play music and enable Dark Mode for your display. The new controls center lets you add controls and drag favorites to the menu bar to customize it. The new design combines notifications and widgets in a single view and in an interactive manner.

    The all new Safari

    Safari is the best way to surf the web on all your Apple devices and it gets the biggest update brings cutomization options, new powerful design to protect your privacy. New support for the WebExtensions API and migration tools allows developers to bring extensions from other browsers to Safari.

    Customizable start page and Improved tab design

    Big Sur feature to set a custom background image to start every browsing session and can decide what appears on your start page such as Favorites, iCloud Tabs, and even a Privacy Report. With new look, more tabs are visible at once. When you have several tabs open, Safari makes it easy to find the one you are looking for with a new space efficient design.

    Privacy Report

    A new weekly Privacy Report on your start page shows how Safari protects your browsing across all the websites you visit. Or click the Privacy Report button in your Safari toolbar for an instant snapshot of every cross-site tracker Safari is actively blocking, on any website you’re visiting.

    Messages on Mac

    Express yourself instantly. With new updated Messages app for Mac gives you all the tools you need to stay in control of the conversation. The new update features includes pin conversation, Inline replies, group photos, mentions, images and Memoji.

    Redesigned Maps

    Maps on Mac makes trip planning fast and easy. Powerful new features let you easily research destinations in advance. Create Guides for your own favorite places and share them with friends and family.

    Privacy information on the App Store

    The new privacy information on the App store lets you see a summary of the privacy practices of each app before you decide to download it. It includes developers self-report how they use your data, including what data they collect and whether that data is used to track you across other apps and websites.

    Some other features includes

    • Editing photos, create standout photos with expanded editing capabilities including an improved Retouch tool.
    • AirPods automatic device allows to switch between your active devices paired to the same iCloud account.
    • Listen Now is the new home for Apple Music featuring new releases, artist interviews, and playlists.
    • HomeKit Secure Video notifications can now take advantage of Face Recognition and Activity Zones.
    • Siri can now help you find answers to a broader set of questions by leveraging information from across the web.
    • Faster updates, once macOS Big Sur is installed, software updates begin in the background and finish faster than before
