Google Wants You to Give Feedback on the Design of Pixel Smartphones

The first-generation Pixel phones were expected well by customers across markets, tough there were mixed reactions as far as the design of the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones is concerned. Some mentioned to the Pixel design as encouraged by iPhones while others accepted that it was functional. The Mountain View-based giant is now seeking feedback on the design of the Pixel phones from the general public which may come in handy for the second-generation of the devices.

Google’s Pixel is one of the best in the business. Its aluminum body together with several bolts tightened at various locations make this and the larger screen variant very sturdy. Durability is one important feature of purchasing a smartphone, and both the Pixel and Pixel XL have passed that test through various torture techniques with flying colors.

In a Pixel User Community post, Krishna Kumar, Product Lead - Pixel, wrote, "I would like to hear your thoughts. What do you like about the design? What do you hate about it? What did we get right? What would you like to see us improve?"

Kumar in his post also points to an in-depth story from CNET that talks about the design philosophy of the first Pixel phones. Among other things, the story remarks how Google's design team passionate over the angle of the phone's edges or how it felt in hands. The design team worked hard to nail down things like the colors of the devices and the surface of the power key

In addition to the VoLTE support coming for Google's newest smartphones, there is an update showing up for the Samsung Galaxy S5 on February 22nd which is next Wednesday, while this is just a security update with bug fixes and enhancements. The Pixel's lack of safety against swims and splashes was seen as one of the phone's major drawbacks compared to its two most significant competitors. Though, the most noticeable difference is its wedge-shape which supports a larger battery while permitting the device to lay flat on a surface.

Google made a big deal about the trio of colors it was present its new Pixel smartphones in at launch back in October 2016, but the "exclusive" Really Blue finish didn't reach in the United Kingdom... until now. If we want dual stereo speakers, yell it. Some referred to the Pixel design as inspired by iPhones while others recognized that it was functional.

A recent report claimed that for Pixel 2, Google is again concentrating on the camera, while it may also introduce a reasonable Pixel smartphone this time around. The report further said that Google may also include water resistance to its next Pixel smartphone, a feature that was remarkably missing in the Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL. Google was also said to be testing next-generation Pixel phones with better processors from two manufacturers – Intel and Qualcomm.

Google Pixel phones, the first self-branded smartphones by the company, were well reviewed, but end users have reported a host of minor and major problems. With the end of Galaxy Note 7, many believed that Google's Pixel smartphones filled the gap left by Samsung's latest Note smartphone.
