Samsung launches Gear VR For Note 7, Gear Fit 2 And IconX Earbuds

Samsung launches Gear VR For Note 7, Gear Fit 2 And IconX Earbuds In India.

Today Samsung introduced its latest flagship phablet Galaxy Note 7 in India. The smartphone is cost Rs 59,900. Along with the Galaxy Note 7, the company also introduced a Gear VR for Note 7, Gear Icon X wireless earbuds and Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker. The devices are priced at Rs 7290, Rs 13990 and Rs Rs 13,490 respectively. Booking for these devices starts on August 22nd.

Also Galaxy Note 7 support, the Oculus-based Gear VR also has features like a micro-USB port and USB Type-C port for connecting the device to Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy S6 Edge. Featuring Gyrometer, Accelerator and Proximity sensors, the new Gear VR weighs 345gm and offers a 101-degree field of view. It will be presented in Blue/Black color options. The design of the new Gear VR is similar as that of the original Gear VR, but with a new color and USB Type-C connectivity.

"By pairing the Galaxy Note 7 with the new Gear VR-powered by Oculus, users can experience premium virtual reality almost anywhere. Galaxy Note 7's incredible Super AMOLED screen and powerful processor deliver an ultra-immersive experience. The vast and ever-growing library of apps, photos, games and more put users in the center of the action," said Samsung.

The company also introduced its Gear Fit 2 fitness band that comes with a fixed GPS tracker and a heart rate monitor. Samsung declares that the Gear Fit 2 has an ergonomic, sleek and slim design.
The Gear Fit 2 is a complete upgrade over its predecessor. Unlike the Gear Fit, which requires a Samsung device to function, the Gear Fit 2 works on any Android phone, so long as we have KitKat (4.4) or above.

The in-built GPS sensor is a need for people who want to leave their phones at home for a jog. The original Gear fit presented little to no functionality when our phone wasn't nearby.

It has a 1.5 inches touch-sensitive display, which is smaller than the display of its predecessor which clocked in at 1.83 inches. The resolution up to 322ppi display from a lowly 245ppi.

The Samsung Gear Fit 2 comes in small and large sizes, and in India it costs Rs. 13,990 ($209). This fitness tracker will become offered for buying at the end of this month.

Samsung has also declared IconX earbuds for Rs 13,490. The wireless earbuds for both right and left ear connect over Bluetooth 4.1 and have internal storage of up to 4 GB for storing songs. The earbuds can play music even when not paired with the smartphone, making it a perfect companion for workout sessions.

The internal battery on the earbuds is small and as per the company claims can last 90 minutes. The earbuds also have a heart-rate monitor.

Samsung Gear IconX wireless earbuds look like to the Moto Hint but are somewhat better under-the-hood. The earbuds come with three different sizes of ear tips and wingtips. They can be started by simply placing them in the ears. The earbuds also enable tracking of data such as speed, distance covered, time was taken, heart rate and calories burned. All of this data can be synced to the S-Health app as well.
