Nokia has launched its latest mid-segment model, the Nokia Lumia 625 as an upgrade to the Lumia 620. Both these phones offer tremendous value for money and a host of amazing features for tech enthusiasts. Today, we compare both models to see if the latest Lumia gives you enough value for money to go for an upgrade, or whether you should just stick with the Lumia 620.

Official Launch And Other Details
The Nokia Lumia 620 was launched in December 2012 at an attractive price of INR 14,000. Nokia billed it as the most affordable Windows 8 based smartphone in India. Available at all Nokia outlets in the country, it was unveiled in a variety of colorful avatars. On the other hand, the Nokia Lumia 625 was unveiled on 22 August 2013 at a price of INR 19,999. 
A thorough comparison based on certain key criteria will determine the winner of this exciting battle.

Memory And Processing Power 
The Nokia Lumia 625 comes with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and Snapdragon S4 Qualcomm chipset. It has 8 GB of internal memory and 512 MB of RAM. Further, there is a graphics processor and external storage support via microSD, microSDXC and microSDHC up to 64 GB. 
The Nokia Lumia 620 has a Qualcomm S4 Plus Snapdragon MSM8227 chipset along with 512 MB of RAM. It possesses similar features as far as external storage and internal memory is concerned. It runs on a 1 GHz Krait dual core processor and has an Adreno 305 GPU.

Display And Related Features
The Nokia Lumia 620 has a 3.8 inch TFT display with 16M colors and a multi-touch capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels and a pixel density of 246 ppi. The smartphone also comes with proximity and light sensors.
The Nokia Lumia 625 on the other hand, boasts of a 4.7 inch IPS display with 16M colors and a multi-touch capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels and a pixel density of 201 ppi. It also has light and proximity sensors. Special display additions include the sturdy Corning Gorilla Glass which makes the Lumia 625 resistant to scratches. 

Battery Specifications
The Lumia 625 has a Li-on 2000 mAh battery which provides 23 hours and 90 minutes of normal talk time, and 15 hours and 20 minutes on 3G. The phone can also make 6 hours and 80 minutes of video calling and playback 90 hours of music. Users also get a decent 552 hours of standby time. 
On the other hand, the Nokia Lumia 620 battery provides 14 hours and 60 minutes of normal call time along with 9 hours and 90 minutes on 3G. The 1300 mAh Li-on battery also provides 330 hours of standby time along with 61 hours of music playback. 

Camera Features
The Nokia Lumia 620 has a 5 megapixel primary camera with F2.4 aperture size and a focal length of 28 millimeters. Night photography is possibly with the help of a LED flash. Lumia 620 comes with Geo Tagging capabilities, touch to focus, scenes, presets for white balance and auto focus capabilities. User can also record HD video in 720x1280 resolutions and make video calls as well via a secondary 0.3 megapixel VGA camera. 
The Nokia Lumia 625 also has a 5 megapixel camera with a 28 millimeter focal length and F2.4 aperture. It also has an LED flash but boasts of HD video recording in 1080x1920 resolutions. Lumia 625 comes with touch to focus, scenes, white balance presets and auto focus features as well, and has additional features for ISO control, panorama and exposure compensation. Video calling is possible via a similar secondary 0.3 megapixel VGA camera. 

Multimedia Features
The Nokia Lumia 625 has several productivity features such as a calendar, calculator, alarm, to-do, viewer for documents, unlimited phonebook entries, MMS, Threaded View, SMS and instant messaging via Google Talk, Windows Live, Skype, MSN and Google. It also has options for predictive text entries.
The Nokia Lumia 620 has scope for unlimited phonebook entries along with other features like ring and picture ID. One can also search for contacts via both last and first names and make use of caller groups. Other standard features include notes, to-do, calculator, alarm, calendar and document viewer. Predictive text input options are present along with MMS, SMS and Threaded view. MSN and Windows Live instant messaging are also supported.

The Nokia Lumia 620 and 625 have Bluetooth 3.0 and 4.0 respectively. Both the Lumias have identical features like Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 connectivity, Mobile hotspot, OTA sync and a 3.5 millimeter connector. Other connectivity features include Tethering, DLNA and syncing abilities with computers. While the Lumia 625 boasts of an FM Radio, the Lumia 620 wins with NFC support.

The Nokia Lumia 625 wins hands down on account of several factors. It has a bigger screen with superior resolution and a faster and more powerful processor. Further, the Lumia 625 is slimmer and provides more standby time for users. Users can enjoy the benefits of FM radio on the Lumia 625. 
The Nokia Lumia 620 wins in only two areas, i.e. NFC support and significantly lighter weight. When it comes to value for money, the Nokia Lumia 620 pales in comparison to the Nokia Lumia 625. The latter simply provides better power, better viewing and better entertainment in one package!
