Hands-on with Motorola Electrify M Android Smartphone

Due to stiff market competition and influx of foreign manufacturers, Motorola has been struggling to keep pace with the likes of Samsung, Nokia and Apple. Known to be a pioneer of the mobile device space, Motorola off late has lost the gloss that once made it one of the top mobile brands in the world. The ailing brand received a face-lift when Google acquired the company in mid 2011. Since the acquisition, Motorola has been showing signs of improvement in terms of handset launches. The Electrify M is powered by a 1.2 gigahertz dual-core processor and a 1780 mAh lithium-ion battery that provides dependable battery life. The battery life is varies depending on the network the device operates in. The maximum battery life can be enjoyed on the GSM and CDMA networks, both in terms of talk time and standby time. In terms of memory, there is a 1 gigabyte internal RAM and 8 gigabytes of internal memory, which can be further extended to 40 gigabyte with the help of SD card. The device also supports on HSPDA and EDGE networks. 

Other Features & Multimedia Options
Electrify M boasts an eight megapixel primary camera with VGA fixed focus secondary camera. The camera comes with LED flash, digital zoom and auto focus options. The camera can shoot videos at up to 30 frames per second and supports 1080 pixels high definition video capture. The handset provides various audio and video options supporting a number of popular file formats and media streaming functions. 
As the device is powered by Android, the functionalities of the phone can be upgraded by installing apps from the collection of over 700,000 apps stored in Google Play. In addition, the device comes with proprietary Google Mobile services such as Calendar, Maps, Latitude, and Street View, among others. In terms of security, the Electrify M comes with features such as PIN lock, data encryption and remote wipe.
