Google Hangouts Allows To Join Groups With Unique Links

Google has updated its Hangouts platform, to allow users to join groups through unique links. This is to save group members the worry of adding everybody to a group individually through invitations. The link for the group chat can be established in its settings menu, and the feature needs to be switched on for each chat. What’s more is that with this, a user will also get the possibility to disallow new members from the link once a user decides to do so.

"This means that even if you don't have someone in your contact list, you can still quickly add them to your Hangouts conversation by sending a link instead." Google Staff Software Engineer Jordanna Chord said in a Google Plus post.

In next few days the feature is likely to roll-out overall Hangouts platforms, she added.

Google was established by Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Specializing in Internet-related products and services that contain technologies, online advertising, search, and software, Google is an American multinational technology company. An online marketing service that places advertising near the list of search results is responsible for most of the profits for Google.

Earlier this week, after gathering new updates on both iOS and Android, now Google Hangouts is picking up a new feature for group chats — the facility to join via a unique link.

Earlier a user to request users one by one into the chat was necessary to create a chat on Google Hangouts. While it wasn’t hard by any means, the ability to send a simple link out to someone who might want to join is certainly easier, somewhat than the previous method.
